Our mission
Beth Joseph Congregation provides a vibrant Torah community where prayer inspires, learning transforms, kindness unites, and every individual has the opportunity to grow in their relationship with Hashem while strengthening the Jewish future in Phoenix.
Beth Joseph Congregation was founded in 1965 and has been a cornerstone of Phoenix Jewish life ever since.
Founded by Rabbi David Rebibo zt"l, our campus is home to the Phoenix Hebrew Academy, the Greater Phoenix Vaad HaKashruth, and the Jewish Enrichment Center — well positioned to serve the needs of our growing Jewish community.
We are a synagogue member of the Union of Orthodox Congregations, proudly upholding the moral and spiritual values of Torah that are the foundation of Orthodox Judaism. Authentic Jewish life — prayer, learning, and community grounded in halacha — is at the heart of everything we do.
Our congregants have access to regular prayer services, life-cycle event assistance, daily minyanim, an eruv, adult education, kashruth, a mikvah, schools, and outreach.

Interim governance
An independent Council is guiding BJC forward.
The Board of Directors has established an independent Council — empowered to make the real decisions needed for the health of the shul — to oversee the congregation's affairs during this interim period, working alongside Rabbi & Rebbetzin Twerski to maintain stability, strengthen transparency, and chart the path toward Board elections planned for January 2027.
