To our Dear Members and Friends of BJC,
As the newly formed independent Council, we are honored to step forward in service to BJC during this important period of transition. We take on this responsibility with humility, energy, and a deep commitment to the strength and future of our community. Our goal is to help ensure a smooth and thoughtful transition, maintain stability in the life of the shul, and work collaboratively with members across the congregation, and alongside Rabbi and Rebbitzen Twerski, to build trust, momentum, and a clear path forward during this interim period. We are excited to help guide this process and look forward to partnering with the community in order to successfully accomplish this.
Our goal as the BJC Council is simple, to pave a smooth, transparent path toward our upcoming elections, while providing transparency and accountability during the process. Specifically, the council will focus on the following:
Daily Operations & Continuity: Ensuring our spiritual, educational, and social calendar moves forward without missing a beat.
Community Engagement: Actively engage members of the community to ensure that voices are heard from the outset, while also helping to build committees and strengthen participation across the congregation.Financial Oversight: Guiding the shul’s financial decisions to support day-to-day operations, maintain fiscal stability, and position the congregation for a healthy future.
Governance Optimization: Help ensure that the shul is organized effectively by clarifying board and leadership roles, reviewing internal policies and procedures, and improving the documentation needed to support ongoing operations and future leadership transitions.
Election Preparation: Setting up a clear, organized nomination, and election process for the incoming Board of Directors.
There are already a number of exciting initiatives in development, and we look forward to sharing more with you very soon. The Council’s role is not only to maintain continuity, but also to help build momentum for meaningful growth and renewal within our community.
For this effort to succeed, we will need your partnership. This is truly a community-wide undertaking, and every member has a role to play in shaping BJC’s future, regardless of past experiences or perspectives. In the coming weeks, we plan to move forward thoughtfully and deliberately, with input and guidance from the community, as we work together to build a strong and vibrant future for BJC.
We are genuinely excited about the road ahead and hopeful about all that we can accomplish together. BJC has always drawn its strength from the care, dedication, and spirit of its members, and we know that this next chapter will be no different.
